No, they’re make completely differently, they don’t have armatures and they’re cast resin so it’s a totally different process. I don’t have any plans to make a tutorial on how to make them, it takes time and I’m pretty busy at the moment with other projects. :)

Hodgekin prototype #2!

The hedgehog fur arrived today :’O it is wonderful stuff. It’s gelled Schultz mohair, so the tips are spikey but not sharp or hard, just stiff. Perfect for hedgehogs!

These guys will have little feet maybe, I’m not sure, but they probably will.

Plant Elemental Dragon Foxes for sale!

I found some incredible, beautiful green Tissavel faux fur remnants and HAD to get some. They were expensive, but SO worth it. These Dragon Foxes are so soft and the fur looks like its glowing. I guarantee they will brighten your life!

They have some rather beautiful silk flowers attached to their manes as I like to imagine they’re plant elementals. I picture them running around in leafy, lush rainforests, gorging on fruit and playing with exotic animals!

The fur was a remnant so they are limited edition. I can get a maximum of four Dragon Foxes from it, but I want to use some for an art doll, so it’s likely there will be a maximum of THREE dragon foxes made with this amazing fur! It’s so soft, it’s like satin, and so beautiful. Photos don’t do it justice.

I thought batch processing dolls the same colour would make my life easier but it just seems I get too carried away with possibilities! So many colours and patterns to choose from… How can I limit myself.

Mofs have resin heads, hands and feet and are hand painted, hand sewn and hand… made! They are squashy and cute and definitely limited edition. You can see them and some of their brethren in my Etsy shop

Ever since I’ve seen these lovelies, I have been a fan of this artist’s work (:
I claimed one of these little guys for myself (: Could you guess which one?
I’ve also got this whole idea/story thought out in my head because these darlings look like they belong in some fantasy. It falls along the lines of something like pollen is the currency and thus having a Mof is very very efficient in this world. Although if I ever write anything including these babies, I would definitely notify the artist first. We’ll see (:

Alpackins!

Alpackins are curly furred balls with resin, handpainted alpaca faces and little felt ears. They are about 4” diameter, weigh 100g each and are filled with dried split peas and fluff.

They are handsewn and the original alpaca face was sculpted in polymer clay, then moulded and cast in resin. They have been painted with acrylics and then varnished several times, so they can be dropped and shouldn’t scratch, although they are not indestructible. They are a limited run with a maximum of 20 being made, this is the first batch of ten!

Alpackins are a perfect and thoughtful gift for anyone you know with alpacas, or for the aspiring smallholder in your life. Real alpacas are expensive and need things like food and space, but alpackins are happy with a shelf or desk to loiter on. You could even hide one in a mug and surprise guests. Hours of fun to be had and no cleaning up afterwards!

Alpackins are now up for sale on my Etsy! £16.50 + P&P (£4.50 to US) (That’s roughly $32!)

I can't wait to see the hedgehog Furkins! I plan in buying one :)

You can see the sun shining.
You can appreciate the leaves of a tree, rain falling, wind blowing.
You can taste chocolate.
You get to spend time with someone you love.
You have music in your life.
You get to create something.

And so on. You probably don’t have all of these, but you might have one or two, and if so, that’s a more than good enough cause to smile.

Ah thanks! Jim Henson and the Creature Workshop were a huge inspiration when I was at uni and Ron Mueck (who played Ludo in Labyrinth) has been my favourite artist for a long time.
