The newest addition to my menagerie, two Fischer’s Lovebirds! An early birthday present for Rob, who is visiting this weekend and so I thought I’d show him now…

They’re only 12 weeks old so I have high hopes for taming them. They are the sweetest most beautiful birds ever! (Poor quails/partridges/turkey/chickens)

The guy who gave me the turkey had raised him indoors so in the morning after he was introduced to his new home he was just fascinated by things like … Sun and grass and dew and bugs.

A common field grasshopper (corthippus brunneus) I chased on a walk at the beach. He was big, but not as big as some of the other insects in this blog.
