I finally found a guide to sprues, vents and gates that I can understand! If you are a caster and have a problem with bubbles you should read this.

I made a ball and socket bone tail! I’m no animator but just had to try and show it off with a gif
This is an amazingly useful website full of jumping off points for more research. It’ll help you learn the absolute basics of mouldmaking, the terminology and the materials. When you know the basics like that you can google more information. It’s far more concise and helpful and easy to read than anything I could write, so please go and grab a cup of tea and have a read if this is what you’re interested in doing.
It’s written by the mould-making and casting technician of Nottingham Trent Uni, so it’s aim is to get you informed of the basics so he doesn’t have to repeat himself a thousand times I guess! I remember my screenprinting tutors at university used to get so angry when they had to explain the basics again and again and… again… and again…
It’s got info on mould types (split mould, skin mould, plug mould), casting and moulding materials (polyester resins, polyurethanes, latex, silicone), vac chambers, it has a list of suppliers and it has a workshop glossary and guide.
It is a British website so the suppliers are UK based, but if you live in the states and are interested, Smooth-On is your best bet.

Gryphon No.1 - Whiskered Treeswift
I’m producing a new batch of resin art dolls, the gryphons. They will be based loosely on species of birds, starting with the Whiskered Treeswift.
He has lady amherst pheasant feathers on his arms and tail, green & blue iridescent paint on his head, hands and feet to match the feathers. He has dragon feet and hands and cute little horns and scales.
Gryphons are smaller than the Dragon-Foxes, about 2/3rds the size, so they are a little quicker to make. The price is consequentially a little lower, but quality remains very high.

You get to pick the colour scheme and the fur. Send me an image of the colour-scheme you want, or just select the fur from the chart linked here.
Dragon-Fox dolls are soft, squishy dolls with plastic hands, feet and heads. I have sculpted the part, taken a mould of it myself, cast reproductions, cut the patterns for the fur, hand sewn them together, painted the parts with an airbrush and then assembled them. Each one is entirely handmade from start to finish and each one is unique. They have stuffed bodies filled with poly pellets for weight. Each Dragon-Fox comes with an authenticity tag and a signed box with three reusable Magweno stickers.

I got some new flexible resin and what a wooooorld of possibilities it’s opened! I can’t begin to describe…
A cool custom for a cool customer on Etsy. I’m loving his mane, I might do that more often.
No. 11 is an earthy, sorrel loving dude with feathers for hair. His fur is “luxe ginger rabbit” - SOOO beautifully soft and fluffy. He’s so cuddly, and the quality of the fur means that as you’re cuddling him your body heat warms him up. Nice.
